What people ask before they move a horse
If something here doesn't answer your question, call or text and ask. 785-282-8546.
What's included in board?
Stall board includes a heated stall with an attached run your horse can use at all times, quality grass hay morning and evening, bedding and daily stall cleaning, fresh water checked and kept from freezing, and eyes on your horse every morning. Grain is fed on your request, with up to $40 worth of grain a month included — specialty feed, or grain beyond that, is billed with the next month's board. You supply your own supplements and we administer them at no charge. Arena and round pen use is included, along with a tack locker in the heated tack room. On outdoor board, you supply the grain and supplements and feeding them is a $40 a month service.
How much turnout does my horse get?
Every stall opens onto a private attached run — 500 sq ft on the open side, 300 sq ft on the lighted side — and your horse can use it any time, day or night. There is no turnout rotation to wait for. Larger paddock turnout beyond the attached run is available as a service.
Can outdoor boarders use the indoor arena?
Yes. Outdoor board includes the indoor arena on Monday, Wednesday and Friday during boarder time, the indoor round pen, and Tuesday Open Ride Night at no charge. The outdoor arena is open to outdoor boarders any time during barn hours.
Do I have to reserve the arena to ride?
No. Boarders ride during boarder time every day with no reservation and no extra charge. Five riders at a time, signed in on the whiteboard in the stall aisle. Clinics and lessons are posted on the calendar sixty days ahead so you can plan around them, and Sundays are boarders only.
What is the arena footing?
The indoor is 90 x 150 on sand and fiber footing, dragged daily. The outdoor arena is 243 x 168. There is also a separate indoor round pen, which means groundwork and colt starting carry on through winter.
Is the barn heated?
Yes. The barn is heated enough to keep water and pipes from freezing, and we prioritize ventilation over warmth. Horses that need more warmth should be blanketed, and blanketing is available as a service.
How much is board?
Stall board is $1,300 a month. Covered outdoor board is $875 a month. The first six stalls are offered at a founding rate of $1,200 and the first three outdoor spots at $825, each held for twelve months from the start date.
What do you need before my horse arrives?
A negative Coggins dated within the last twelve months, current vaccinations including tetanus, Eastern and Western encephalomyelitis, West Nile, rabies, influenza and rhinopneumonitis, deworming on a schedule agreed with the barn, and farrier care on a regular cycle. These stay current for as long as your horse is here.
Do you take haul-ins?
Yes. A private hour in the indoor arena is $35, the round pen is $20 per half hour, and Open Ride Night on Tuesdays is $15 per rider. Haul-ins book and pay in advance, sign a release, and need a current negative Coggins on file.
What disciplines do you cater to?
All of them. Chase comes from a western and horsemanship background, but the facility is discipline-neutral and riders of every discipline are welcome. Outside trainers may work with their clients here with prior approval and a certificate of insurance.
Do you offer lessons or training?
Two Creeks does not run its own lesson program. The training side here is horsemanship, groundwork and colt starting. Clients are welcome to bring their own trainer, and we are working on bringing clinicians out through the season.
Where are you and what are your hours?
18997 Elbert Road, Elbert, Colorado 80106, on Elbert Road between Elbert and Peyton. We draw boarders from Peyton, Falcon, Black Forest, Elizabeth, Kiowa and the north side of Colorado Springs. The barn is open 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day, and boarders come and go within those hours with no appointment. Coming south on Elbert Road, we are the first drive past the big tan barn with the brown roof.
